Cicadas

I hate those damn things.

After 17 years of peace and quiet they are apparently ready to take up residence in my backyard once again.

They should begin to appear in May sometime and hang around for about a month. Yuck, I'm getting itchy just thinking about it.

They pretty much render use of the yard around my house impossible. They're big, ugly, loud but, luckily, harmless.

I'm all for mother nature but what the hell possessed her to make these things?
