So, What's New?

 Not much really.

As expected Trump was acquitted in the senate and is preparing to talk at CPAC. The Supreme Court decided that the Manhattan AG can have Trump's tax returns and the Giants want money from me for my season tickets.

I also need to get my taxes organized.

I'm going to work on the taxes Saturday the day after I find out how much putting my mouth back together is going to cost.

As for the Giants, I have until May 1st so I'm going to sit on that for a while. At the moment the state is only allowing 1/6th capacity at Metlife Stadium.

Axios has reported that Trump intends to announce that he is the presumptive Republican nominee for president in 2024. It should be interesting to see how that goes over.

I heard a bit of an analysis on the little we know about Trump's taxes and it sounds as if there are definitely some shady things going on there. Whether they will raise up to the level of criminal charges is yet to be seen.

Oh well, on to bigger and better things.

The Corona Virus, February 22, 2921

There are currently 28,600,557 reported case in the US and 506,434 deaths.

California has 3,519,609 cases and 49,342 deaths
Texas has 2,600,234 cases and 41,481 deaths
Florida has 1,868,772 cases and 29,906 deaths
New York has 1,592,487 cases and 46,317 deaths
Illinois has 1,174,416 cases and 19,964 deaths

We're over half a million deaths in about a year. Luckily the news from the vaccine front continues to be good. Pfizer is now saying that even one shot gives significant protection but I'm still getting a second one.

Again New Jersey dropped a bit as well but not as much as the national drop. The website hasn't updated the number of tests since Friday so the percentage is a little less than 7.8%. My guess is that it would be around 6.5%

Bergen county dropped below 2,000 cases for the first time since early November.

We're still set to get the second Pfizer shot on March 2nd. I go February 26th to hear what horrors they're planning for my mouth. My bridge fell out last week and I had to go get it glued back in. Clearly I need to get this taken care of sooner rather than later. Then there's the issue of my hair. I'm going on a year without a haircut other than a slight clipping in the back done by my daughter. Honestly, I look like hell. I could frighten small children.

The Corona Virus, February 15, 2021

There are currently 28,098,979 reported case in the US and 492,383 deaths.

California has 3,463,659 cases and 47,054 deaths
Texas has 2,568,958 cases and 40,632 deaths

New York has 1,540,003 cases and 45,116 deaths
Illinois has 1,162,120 cases and 19,964 deaths

We are approaching half a million deaths. Remember how horrified everyone was when Trump declared that 200,000 deaths would be a success?

It certainly looks like the number of cases are dropping dramatically. How much of this is cyclic and how much is thanks to the vaccines is unclear.

Bergen county had a slight dip as well.

I received the first shot on the 9th. Strangely enough, just after I got back home, they called my wife and asked if she was interested in getting a shot. Well, YEAH and I immediately drove her back to the hospital. So we've both gotten the first shot and are scheduled for the second on March 2nd. Let's hope it doesn't snow.

Impeachment #2

So, what do I think about Trump's second impeachment trial?

Let's start with I'm 100% convinced that he will be acquitted by the Senate because, well, Republicans.

So, is it a waste of time?

No, I think it's necessary to get it all down on the record. Necessary to display all of the dangerous, awful things this poor excuse for a man has done. I also think it's necessary to get down on record who will stand up and do the right thing and who will vote to acquit.

What's With March 4th?

You may have heard some chatter about Trump being inaugurated as the REAL president on March 4th.

The background to this is beyond insane.

According to some, the United States was turned into a corporation by an act of Congress in 1871 and everything since then,  including the 20th Amendment which changed the inauguration date, doesn't count.

Specifically it was the “District of Columbia Organic Act of 1871” which simply reorganized the District of Columbia.

Essentially what the act did was create a district corporation governing the entire federal territory called the District of Columbia. So it was DC that was incorporated and not the entire country.

The crazies don’t seem to understand that there are over 19,000 incorporated municipal entities in the US and that a municipal corporation is not the same thing as a business or commercial corporation.

The Corona Virus, 2/8/2021

There are currently 27,454,300 reported case in the US and 470,233 deaths.

California has 3,397,124 cases and 44,174 deaths
Texas has 2,495,350 cases and 38,874 deaths
Florida has 1,777,984 cases and 27,705 deaths
New York has 1,481,582 cases and 43,772 deaths
Illinois has 1,146,313 cases and 19,633 deaths

The number of reported cases continues to slow down.

The first time under a million cases since early November. Some experts are concerned this may lull people into a false sense of security especially given the possibly more contagious variants spreading. Hopefully the pace of vaccination will offset that.

Bergen county had a slight dip as well.

So, I didn't hear about the treatment options last Wednesday, We're going to meet on the 26th to discuss the options and plan the way forward. This is starting to get really scary. How complicated is this going to be?

I'm now going for my first shot tomorrow. My wife goes 9 days after that. Wish me luck.

Bergen county had a slight dip as well.

Well, I heard back from my dentist. Turns out there was some confusion about who was doing what next. Anyway, I have an appointment Wednesday to hear about my treatment options. Right now it's snowing like hell outside. We're expecting a foot or more of the white stuff.

No change on the vaccine front. We still have appointments in about two weeks. I have this vision of getting the virus and kicking the bucket just before I get vaccinated.
