There are currently 244,688 reported case in the US and 5,917 deaths.
New York has 92,597 cases and 2,373 deaths
New Jersey has 25,590 cases and 537 deaths
California has 10,950 cases and 240 deaths
Michigan has 10,791 cases and 417 deaths
Louisiana has 9,159 and 310 deaths
I'm convinced that nobody knows what they're doing and especially here in New Jersey. Murphy and company are lucky that I'm not asking the questions.
Let's start with why are there so many states that seem so far ahead of us in tests administered?
The second question would be why do we have such a high percentage of positives compared to other places? The New Jersey positive results are now at 25,590 out of 59,110. That's a positive result rate of 43.3%. Florida has done 78,000 tests and has a positive rate of 10.4%.
My third question would be other than tell everyone to stay home, what are we doing to reduce the numbers because they seem to be going up at about the same rate limited only by limits on testing?
Finally, the New Jersey health commissioner, Judith Persichilli, is a goddamn administrator. Who's the infectious disease expert actually helping to make the decisions?
The latest thing is the CDC is now thinking about telling people to wear masks when they go out. You know, those things they told us NOT to wear.
Then we have the crazies. Hobby Lobby refuses to close their stores (although the police are apparently closing them for them). Why you ask? Because apparently God advised the owner, through his wife, to keep the stores open.
Pastors are still holding services so they can “lay on hands,” and the only one the GOP hasn’t blamed for this catastrophe is the squirrel that lives in the tree in my backyard.
There is no word in the English language to describe the stupidity of these people.
I don’t see any end in sight to this and, even if things calm down, we all know the next wave of disaster will just be waiting to happen.
Now we're also hearing forget about a vaccine in 12-18 months. That's way too optimistic. What the fuck guys?
