Joe Judge as Giants Head Coach

What do I think of Judge as the Head Coach of my Giants? I don't think anything yet.

Like everyone else I was surprised and, like everyone else, I was impressed with his first news conference. I have two concerns so far.

First, I'm hoping the choice wasn't made because Judge is just going to be an extension of Gettleman going with whatever decisions are made by the GM. I suppose we won't really know about this one until the draft.

Second, Judge seems to be surrounding himself with old buddies. This is not necessarily a bad thing. It's good to have people around you that you trust but it can lead to group think if everyone is too similar.

I'm really hoping Judge can get Jason Garrett to take the OC job. That would go a long was toward calming my second fear.

CFP Final

LSU - 42 (1) vs Clemson - 25 (3)

What is there to say? Once Burrow and company figured out Clemson's 3-1-7 defense it was all over. Burrow threw for 5 touchdowns and ran for another. Lawrence was just over matched, this time. I'm certain they'll meet again at the next level.

The game was well worth the wait but they need to figure out a better was to schedule things. Ah well, on to next year.

The Inmates are Running the Asylum

The Trump administration has got to be the most incompetent group of clowns ever to try and run a country.

Let's start with the assassination of Iranian general Qasam Soleimani. I'm not passing judgement on Trump's decision to take this guy out. Soleimani was an evil fuck as anyone who had anything to do with IEDs in Iraq can attest.

But then we get the astounding pronouncement from somewhere with the array of Trump "advisors" that the option to assassinate Soleimani was never meant TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!!!

WTF guys? You don't put an option in front of an incompetent crazy like Trump and HOPE that isn't the one he picks.

Let's continue shall we.

Then the Iraqi parliament passes a resolution saying it wants all foreign troops withdrawn. This seems like a reasonable request and I'm not sure why they didn't do it years age.

The US army responds that it is preparing to withdraw. The fast response surprised me a bit but I thought maybe the Pentagon decided to agree before Trump did something stupid.

Now we hear from Secretary of Defense Mark Esper that the letter about withdrawing “was inconsistent with where we are right now.”

What the hell does that mean?

Well, apparently, according to General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the letter was a draft and IT WAS A MISTAKE IT WAS SENT OUT!?

With these guys incompetence has reached an art form.
