Tomorrow I get the vascular surgeon, yuck. I suppose my last lung CT Scan didn't show the aneurisms or what it showed wasn't good. We shall find out tomorrow. The damn ultrasound is annoying as hell.

The 2022 World Cup, 11/27/2022

 Match results.

Friday, November 25

The US and England tied 0-0, that's the fifth 0-0 tie, so if the US wants to advance it will have to beat Iran. Germany is playing Spain and can't afford to lose. Even a draw would put them in tough shape.

Bergen County was pretty flat as well.

Another quiet week but next week is looking pretty miserable. We have dentist, bringing in the car and the vascular surgeon.

They laugh at me at the car place. I've had the car since December of 2019 and I've got a little over 5,000 miles on it.

In the meantime my barber closed shop so I really need to find another place because my hair is a mess.

The 2022 World Cup

The World Cup starts in Qatar on Sunday. I'm going to not go into all of the nasty rumors about foreign workers being kept in squalid accommodations and treated like slave labor.

Here are the Groups.

Group A - Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands.

Group B - England, Iran, USA, Wales.

Group C - Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland

Group D - France, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia.

Group E - Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan.

Group F - Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia.

Group G - Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon.

Group H - Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea.

Games coming up:

Sunday, November 20

Qatar vs. Ecuador

Monday, November 21

Senegal vs, Netherlands

England vs. Iran

USA vs. Wales.

Oh yeah, no predictions this year. I'm tired of making myself look like a fool.

The 2022 Election, November 17, 2022

The Republicans have clinched a House majority. Get ready for the Hunter Biden investigations and maybe they'll even resurrect the Benghazi Committee. In other words, expect zilch unless the Dems embarrass some GOP members to actually do something useful.

House

Republicans 218, Democrats 211, 6 undecided.

Senate

Democrats 50, Republicans 49, Run -off in Georgia.

And last, but not least, MAGA radical Kari Lake lost to Katie Hobbs in the Arizona governor's race. On to Georgia!.

Monday, November 14, 2022

The 2022 Election, November 14, 2022

The Democrats will keep their majority in the Senate as Cortez Mastro has won in Nevada. The House is still undecided but the Republicans continue to have the edge.

House

Republicans 212, Democrats 206, 17 undecided.

Senate

Democrats 50, Republicans 49, Run -off in Georgia.

The 2020 Election, November 12, 2022

Things have gotten a bit tighter and some stuff has been resolved and some hasn't.

The House

It still looks like Republicans will take control of the House but definitely with a much more precarious majority than previously predicted.

The NBC projection is now Republicans with 220 seats, the Democrats with 215. That's a two seat gain for the Democrats.

Seats which have actually been decided are at Republicans 211 and Democrats 202.

The Senate

It's still not over yet. It's all tied up at 49 - 49 because Kelly won in Arizona.

Pennsylvania Democrat, Ohio Republican, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Going to a Run-off, Nevada Republican Leading, Arizona Democrat, New Hampshire Democrat.

Nevada is really, really close and could go either way but we all know that it's going Republican so it will come down to an all or nothing run-off in Georgia.

Another quiet. I saw my pulmonologist but she didn't have any words of advise, She was happy that my weight wasn't constantly going down. It's been constant in the 166-167 range.

There some hasty stuff coming up though. On December 1st I go to the vascular surgeon to find out about my aneurisms. I suppose the CT Scan didn't show them or he hasn't gotten a chance to check yet. Then we go into the lung stuff in early January

The 2022 Election, The Day After

It wasn't great but it wasn't nearly as bad as people were afraid it was going to be.

The House

Republicans will take control of the House but probably with a much more precarious majority than previously predicted.

Real Clear Politics had the Republicans with 227 seats, the Democrats with 174 and 34 undecided. The current NBC projection is Republicans with 222 seats, the Democrats with 213.

The Senate

It's not over yet. The Republicans currently have a 49 - 48 advantage:

Pennsylvania Democrat, Ohio Republican, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Going to a Run-off, Nevada Republican Leading, Arizona Democrat Leading, New Hampshire Democrat.

It looks like Nevada will go Republican and Arizona will go Democrat. Assuming I'm right that would mean:

Real Clear Politics had 4 right, 2 wrong, and then there's Georgia which RCP said would be Republican.

Electoral Vote had 6 right, 0 wrong, then there's Georgia which EV said was a Toss-up.

Five Thirty Eight had 3 right, 0 wrong, but had Georgia as Republican and Republicans  ahead  in Pennsylvania and Nevada.

So, when all was said and done. Electoral Vote wasn't the outlier but rather the most accurate essentially calling all seven races correctly. Real Clear Politics called four correctly and Five Thirty Eight called four correctly as well. Of course this is assuming that my Arizona and Nevada predictions hold up.

It looks like it's going to come down to the run-off in Georgia. Where have I heard this one before?

Tuesday, November 08, 2022

The 2022 Election, November 8, 2022

The final projections from the three sites. I've added an (R) or (D) to Senate toss-ups to indicate lead if there is one.

Real Clear Politics Projects

Senate: Republicans 53-1, Democrats 47+1 including:

Pennsylvania Republican, Ohio Republican, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Republican, Nevada Republican, Arizona Republican, New Hampshire Democrat

House: Republicans 227-1, Democrats 174, Toss ups 34+1

Electoral Vote Projects

Senate: Republicans 50+2, Democrats 49-1, Toss-ups 1 including:

Pennsylvania Democrat, Ohio Republican, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Toss-upNevada Republican, Arizona Democrat, New Hampshire Democrat

Five Thirty Eight Probability of Winning

Senate: Republicans 59%+8%, Democrats 41%-8%  including:

Pennsylvania Toss up (R), Ohio Republican, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Republican, Nevada Toss up (R), Arizona Democrat, New Hampshire Democrat

House: Republicans 84% +1%, Democrats 16% - 1%

Electoral Vote has sort of moved to the dark side as well. Given that Democrats almost always poll better than Republicans it would take a polling failure of epic proportions to have a result other than Republicans winning both houses.

I wonder what, if anything, they can accomplish?

Tuesday, November 01, 2022

The 2022 Election, November 1, 2022

Things just keep getting worse as the New Hampshire Senate race might be slipping away.

Real Clear Politics projects: -- Republicans Gain

Senate: Republicans 54+1, Democrats 46-1 including:

Pennsylvania Republican, Ohio Republican, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Republican, Nevada Republican, Arizona Republican, New Hampshire Republican

House: Republicans 228+3, Democrats 174-1, Toss ups 33-2

Electoral Vote Projects -- Democrats Gain

Senate: Republicans 48-2, Democrats 51+1 including:

Pennsylvania Democrat, Ohio Democrat, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Democrat, Nevada Tied, Arizona Democrat, New Hampshire Democrat

Five Thirty Eight Probability of Winning - Republicans Gain

Senate: Republicans 51%+6%, Democrats 49%-6%  including:

Pennsylvania Toss up, Ohio Republican, Wisconsin Republican, Georgia Toss up, Nevada Toss up, Arizona Democrat, New Hampshire Democrat

House: Republicans 83% +2%, Democrats 17% - 2%

Electoral Vote is clearly the outlier here. The bad news is they skewed Democrat in 2020 so if that's any indication they're the least accurate here.
