Trump Counties Account for Only 29% of GDP

Put this one in the "it doesn't surprise me column."

According to the Brookings Institute, the 2,497 counties won by Trump in the 2020 election only account for 29% of the country's GDP. The counties Biden won account for 70%. Biden won 94 of the biggest GDP counties while Trump only won six.

This is even worse than the 2016 election where Clinton won counties accounting for 64% of the GDP.

So this tells me two things. The first is that the people who are producing the most voted for Joe Biden. The second is that a lot of poor rural counties voted for Donald Trump.

Now the question we have to ask ourselves is is why did they do that?
