The Fall of the Republic 11/28/2020

I've decided to scrap the "OK We're in Trouble Label" and begin calling like it is because the Republic is in serious danger.

So, where are we?

In Pennsylvania the 3rd Circuit has dismissed Giuliani's suit saying that it had "No Merit." Jenna Ellis got all giddy about this and declared that they would appeal to the Supreme Court. Giuliani called the last week in Pennsylvania a great success.

Getting to the Supreme Court appears to have been the objective here all along.

In the meantime Republicans in the Pennsylvania assembly and senate are working on resolutions that essentially say the election was tainted and congress should declare it as such.

The Mike Kelly lawsuit claiming that Act 77 was unconstitutional, therefore all mail-in ballots are illegal and the Pennsylvania legislature should determine the electors is still hanging around awaiting a review by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

In Wisconsin the recounts are nearing their end. In Milwaukee Biden actually gained a hundred votes or so but Republicans have challenged somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 votes. The board of canvassers rejected the challenge along party lines 2-1 so we can expect another lawsuit. Dane County is still counting. Wisconsin is scheduled to certify next week.

In Arizona the head of the GOP has filed a lawsuit in an attempt to stop certification scheduled for next week. I'm not sure exactly what her claim is but I believe it's associated with Maricopa County again.

Sidney Powell, of Hugo Chavez fame, has filed lawsuits in Georgia and Michigan alleging widespread voter fraud. Georgia is still in the middle of its second recount.

In Washington Trump has claimed that Joe Biden has to PROVE that the 80 million votes he got were all legitimate. Trump has apparently forgotten that only the electoral votes matter.

This is fucking insane and demonstrates how screwed up our politics are. If it were just Trump I could laugh it off but it appears that most of the GOP is backing him up in this.
