We were coming home from a Giants' football game one night a few years ago. As we were passing through town there was a black dude with dreadlocks driving a beat up old Pinto pulled over. We have three police cars in town and two of them had this guy bracketed. My daughter looked over, shook her head and said "he had no chance."
My town is 89% white and 10% Asian. The other 1% are mixed race or Hispanic. The police know every car that belongs in town. They can reel off what cars are expected to be parked at what houses. The other thing is that my town is basically a dead end. There is almost no reason to be there unless you're going there especially at night.
So, racial profiling or not?
