Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records at his trial in New York.
I have to admit that I'm really surprised by the verdict. I was expecting a hung jury or at best guilty on one or two counts and not guilty on the rest.
So, now what? These are E Felonies and it's my understanding that, especially with no previous convictions, that it's highly unlikely that Trump will get any jail time.
So does this really matter? Yes, I think it does. It emphasizes the point that no one is above the law even if I expect a sentence the equivalent of "now Donny, say three Hail Marys and promise never to do this again."
