The Fireplace on Route 17 in Paramus is closing after 65 years. Today will be their last day and hundreds of people are standing in line to get one more burger. It's another victim of the Corona virus.
We've eaten there hundreds of times not only for burgers but also for breakfast which was served until 11 AM. The first time we went there was over45 years ago.
They had pickle slices, relish and onions near the napkins, ketchup and mustard to put on your burger. We used to take a plate of pickles to share amongst us.
I would get onion rings and put ketchup, mustard, pickles and two onion rings on my burger but I haven't been there since the pandemic started.
Goodbye Fireplace, we'll never forget you.
